Club Races
A core component of DC Road Runners’ mission is to promote the sport of running and general fitness within the DMV community. The club accomplishes this goal by organizing a variety of timed races that take place in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. Every DC Road Runners race is open to club members and non-members alike.
DCRR Series Races
DC Road Runners organizes two longstanding race series: the Bunion Derby Series and the Snowball Series.
Both race series are held annually. The Bunion Derby spans the summer months (generally May-September), and the Snowball Series runs throughout the winter (generally December-March).
These races are the foundation of intraclub competition. Twice per year—once for each race series—winners are recognized formally at club happy hours.
These races are free for club members. Non-members pay $10.00 plus processing fees (per race) to run.
As with all club events, the success of these races depends on volunteer support.
Premium Races
The Alexandria Turkey Trot and the National Capital 20 Miler are large premium race events that attract elite runners from the DMV, and across the country.
These races are paid events for all participants, and they are open to club members and non-members alike.
Contract Race Services
DC Road Runners is available to provide race management and timing services on a contract basis. We can assist you with the organization of your event in a variety of ways, and we encourage you to contact us if you are interested in discussing the services that we can offer.
